Sorry its a bit late… and we haven’t posted in a while.
I just want to tell you about how amazing the 4th July celebrations are! So we spent 4th July with Gillian and family, first of all we had a street parade where all the kids dressed up their bikes and we all walked around the block. Followed with a big street party!! We spent the day before with the kids decorating the bikes with all different accessories from the dollar and under store!
Me and Anne wanted to embrace our American side.. we went out and bought white dresses vest tops and cardigans in opposite Red and Blue! And of course a high pony with ribbon. also with clip in red and blue hair!!! We had a complete stranger ask to take a picture of us as she loved our outfits! This was before we opened our mouth for her to get even more excited as we were ENGLISH…
The block parade was massive!! we were at the front of the que and yet these were the people in front of us! The parade started with the fire truck then vintage cars. After the kids were able to ride around the block.
They get excited on the 4th July…. I mean very excited… some people talk about dancing on cars (FAME!) but lets top that and say dancing on the roof! Yep speakers and teens dancing on the roof of their house!!!
Once we had walked around the block we were then ready to eat! My first snow cone… I had quite a few, and then a glow in the dark mouth. Hot dogs EVERYWHERE!!! And the sauces were just weird! I passed on the mustard! Then the street party began, Egg and spoon race, Hola-Hoop competition, Tug of war
and best of all water balloon throwing competition. If you thought you enjoyed fireworks at 5th November…. imagine that with evening heat… happy Americans…. and not FREEZING hands!
We were so lucky to spend 4th July in America with the cutest family…. True American style
